Steppers Squad (“the app”) is made by Orangeman. This page explains what data the app uses and why. It is written for App Store reviewers and people who use the app.

What the app does

Steppers Squad shows your daily step count and lets you create or join a squad so friends can compare steps. It runs on iPhone and uses Apple services you already have: Health and iCloud.

Health data

With your permission, the app reads step-count data from Apple Health (HealthKit). It does not write to Health, and it does not request other Health categories.

You can revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → Steppers Squad (or Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices).

Account and identity

There is no separate email/password account. Sign-in is your Apple ID / iCloud account. In the app you choose a username, display name, and avatar. Those are stored so squad members can recognize you.

What we store (CloudKit)

Profile and squad data sync through Apple CloudKit in the public database for this app’s container. Typical records include:

Your profile (username, display name, avatar)
Squads you create or join (name, invite code, membership)
Daily step totals you share with a squad (StepEntry)

Apple hosts this data under your iCloud relationship to the app. We do not run a separate custom backend for Steppers Squad.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data.
We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.
We do not use App Tracking Transparency for cross-app tracking.
We do not use your steps for medical diagnosis or advice.

Squad ownership

If the owner leaves a squad, that squad is deleted for everyone in it (memberships and related squad data). Members who are not the owner leave only their own membership.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app under Settings. Deletion removes your profile and the step entries we store for you, leaves or deletes squads as above, and clears local profile data on the device. This cannot be undone.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it if you are under the minimum age required in your region for Apple ID / App Store use.
